Kim Noble Calhoun
Writer, Poet, Educator, Photographer
My introduction into the world of art started with a pen. I poured my soul onto the page after my father passed away when I was five years old. The page was my safe place, my therapist, my best friend.
As time passed, my life collided with Almighty God, and He took my words and taught me how to write to bring messages of hope, healing, and salvation to the world.
In 2012, I met the man who would eventually become my husband. He brought his guitar to my world of words. God merged our gifts, and he started joining me when I share spoken word poetry at different events. We have travelled to many states and cities with my pen, his guitar, and all of God.
I've always loved documenting life. I believe photography is poetry in still. I have pictures from childhood days. I feel the power of imagery the same way I feel the power of words. My husband loved taking pictures of his Mustang. And before we knew it, we also become a husband & wife team of photographers and artists.
When I'm not writing, spitting poetry, or shooting photography, I am teaching writing to freshmen at Southeastern Louisiana University and Northshore Technical Community College.
